There continues to be a huge amount of work being done to support our Negotiations with the Office of Treaty Settlements.  So we take this opportunity to acknowledge the team for all of the good work they are doing.

The historical account is now complete, with the Crown now developing acknowledgements which will be discussed on at the end of March.  We are now in the process of having the Historiacal account reviewed by an eminent historian, namely Miles Fairburn.  This is part of the process, and will give it credibility from an external objective point of view.

The Negotiations Team have had a meeting with the Minister in Charge of Treaty Negotiations.  This was our opportunity to present to the Minister, what we see as being the special nature of our Claim and to give some key information about our Iwi and our history.  We have arranged to have a follow up hui in early April.

Most of the work for Cultural Redress has been completed, and we are working with OTS and Doc on the sites that we have a strong interest in. The process from now on is that the Crown will consider the requests that we have made, and then make a formal offer to us.

In April there will be several Hapu hui that will include discussions on the progress of our claim.  We will also have a Hui-a-Iwi as well.
